How it started
The ¡Azucar!Family Salsa Party was conceived by three salseras who traded late nights at salsa clubs for nighttime feedings and diaper changes--but who are ready to hit the dance floor again--"en familia".
The salsa dance party
The ¡Azucar!Family Salsa Party gets hip salsa loving parents back on the dance floor! For one weekend afternoon, a popular area nightclub transforms itself into daytime salsa club for salseros and their little papitos. A popular DC area Latin DJ spins a mostly salsa/latin mix, with a few surprises.
The ¡Azucar! Family Salsa Party is a place for parents to enjoy time with friends and family, reminisce about salsa nights gone by, and inspire new salsa stories with their children. Mostly, it's a place to dance and have fun--"en familia".
Los "rincones"
While the "Conga Corner" invites our aspiring percussionists to play drums and maracas, the "Rincon de Descanso" gives little ones a corner to rest and play with quiet toys, and mothers a place to nurse.
La comida
Jammin Java's full cafe menu is available throughout the event with kid friendly food and adult favorites. For those undesignated drivers who care to indulge, a cash bar is open until the wee hours of the afternoon.
Familia y amigos
The salsa dance party is more fun when you are surrounded by friends and family. You are welcome to share this invitation with other families who love salsa. Just copy and paste the web page URL into your email message. www.azucarsalsaparty.eventbrite.com.
